• 3.0 out of 5 stars from jpete -- A bit of a disappointment : I have no serious critiques of the writing...the level of adventure and dastardliness of the villains seems appropriate for the age and there is a lot of interesting information though the descriptions of clothing and physical features slows the plot at times. It's not a series I am going to tell everyone they need to read like a few others I could name, but my main "complaint" is with the plot. Without spoiling too much, the way the plot of this book ended it seemed to me to be a pretty blatant ploy to prolong the series in an attempt to sell more books. If what happened in this book had happened earlier in the series it wouldn't have felt that way. The only reason I will finish the series (and that is not a for sure if it is more than 1 or 2 more books) is that my grandson is reading it. ( Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2021 )
